Research & Development

The Research and Development department work on a variety of projects conducted by the Sector

Consultation Groups. This ensures that employers and key stakeholders within the Security Business Sector

are fully engaged in looking at innovative and appropriate solutions to providing skills, National Occupational

Standards (NOS) and qualification pathways for current and future employees.

Skills for Security have been very successful in enabling these Groups to inform on skills needs,

qualifications development and qualifications through the provision of up to date Labour Market Information

and feedback from employers. Much has already been achieved but there is still a lot to be done across

the various disciplines over the next few years in ensuring a continuing rise in skills and available qualifications.
