To further enhance training provision, Skills for Security has accredited programmes that have been developed by other organisations but have met our quality standards and can therefore display the 'Skills for Security approved' logo. The following organisation offers a Door Supervision Trainer course that has been accredited by Skills for Security.
Who is the programme designed for?
This programme, delivered in conjunction with Rutherford Training, has been created for trainers who wish to deliver
Rutherford's Level 3 Security Management (Head Door Supervision) training. You must have a minimum of 2 years' door supervision experience, a Level 3 trainer qualification (PTLLS or equivalent) and a Level 3 Conflict Management trainer qualification.
What does the programme cover?
The programme consists of three key phases:
1. Distance learning phase, during which delegates study the learning material provided to build up their sector knowledge (3 weeks before the classroom sessions).
2. Two day classroom-based course to develop knowledge of the material and key learning techniques including:
- Security manager's role
- Team leadership skills
- Risk assessments and reduction measures

3. One day classroom-based micro-teaching practice for delegates with assessment and evaluation.
What are the benefits of this programme?
You will develop your understanding of the subject material including the main responsibilities of a Head Door Supervisor. You will also be introduced to key leadership principles and gain an understanding of basic counter terrorism awareness. After successful completion of the programme you will be able to deliver the two day Security Manager's course in accordance with the licensing agreement. In addition, the BTEC Level 3 Award in Security Management (Head Door Supervision) can be delivered by accredited trainers.
Accredited trainers will be required to attend a one day re-certification programme every two years to ensure that their knowledge is current.
