This is 5-6 hour course.

Schools and Colleges have the powers to search pupils and students for weapons, drugs, and other prohibited items without consent, and "Skills for Security" are the body recommended by the Department for Education for finding training providers who are competent and capable to deliver this type of training.

The aim of this course is to train your staff to search pupils and students, and their belongings in a correct, thorough, systematic, safe and legal manner.

The course covers:

- The Law and your Powers

- What constitutes "reasonable force"

- Made, Adapted and Concealed Weapons

- Drug Awareness and Concealment

- Searching for Alcohol and Stolen Goods

- Documents to be completed

- Action to be taken if items are found

- Skills or Security Certificate on successful completion of the course

Status Training Services provide security consultancy services to the AOC (Association of Colleges).
