It is a fundamental requirement, for those wishing to comply with BS7858 and other industry codes of practice, to operate a stringent pre-employment vetting system. Skills for Security offers the Vetting Skills programme for both vetting administrators and trainers who wish to train administrators. Trainers must hold a minimum of a Level 3 teaching qualification (e.g the City & Guilds 7303)

Screening personnel and other Human Resource professionals with screening responsibility and trainers wishing to deliver the programme in-house.
What does the programme cover?
This one-day Skills for Security certificated programme covers all areas related to the sensitive and critical area of security screening. Topics include:
- The importance of accurate screening
- Collecting data for screening the prospective employee
- Procedures relating to screening
- Necessary documentation
- The statutory declaration
- Legislation affecting the process
- BS7858
Assessment will be made through formative Q and A assessment throughout the course.
What are the benefits of this programme?
This programme provides personnel involved in staff screening with the necessary information to enable the security screening process to be effectively and successfully undertaken.
Successful delegates who are qualified trainers can run their own programmes and apply for Skills for Security certification at a cost of £12.50 plus vat per certificate. A CD-ROM will be provided to delegates containing materials for delivering their own courses and the certification process.
