To further enhance training provision, Skills for Security have accredited programmes that have been developed by other organisations but have met our quality standards and can therefore display the 'Skills for Security approved' logo. The following organisations offer Close Protection courses that have been accredited by Skills for Security.
In order to work in close protection in the UK, close protection officers must have attended an accredited SIA close protection course, hold a valid Health & Safety Executive first aid certificate and passed a criminal background check.
Protective Advanced Driving
This 6 day Level 3 Protective Advanced Driving course provides situational awareness advanced driving skills, covered over 10 modules. The course covers road driving, vehicle dynamics, advanced car control, high speed driving, adverse weather conditions, night driving, evasive driving and situational awareness. The course is aimed at Close Protection Drivers, Guild & Professional Chauffeurs and Security Professionals.
