To further enhance training provision, Skills for Security have accredited programmes that have been developed by other organisations but have met our quality standards and can therefore display the 'Skills for Security approved' logo. The following organisations offer Close Protection courses that have been accredited by Skills for Security.
In order to work in close protection in the UK, close protection officers must have attended an accredited SIA close protection course, hold a valid Health & Safety Executive first aid certificate and passed a criminal background check.
Enhanced Close Protection Driving (ECPD) Course (3 Days)
The G4S Enhanced Close Protection Driving (ECPD) is aimed at providing Close Protection (CP) professionals, working in high risk environments, with the skills sets and driving competencies required to complement their SIA licensed CP operative qualification.The ECPD course is conducted over a three day period at the discrete G4S training facility at Pershore in Worcestershire. Instructors are former UK Special Forces and police personnel who have recognised civilian teaching qualifications and recent operational experience; their proven capabilities and the G4S facilities enable them to deliver a credible practical experience which is unrivalled for allowing CP professionals to achieve excellent driving skills and teamwork.
