The SIA recently announced that the licence-linked qualifications have changed to include a new modular structure. Skills for Security has developed a "ready to teach" cost effective training solution to help employers and training providers meet these new requirements. These new materials meet the requirements of the SIA core competencies.
In Scotland the Door Supervision qualification changed in June 2010 to the new structure. Other licence-linked qualifications will change from September 2010.
The new approach to licence-linked training/qualifications means that all students will receive training in the same "core modules" that are common to all licensable occupations, but the remainder of their security training will differ depending upon the type of licence/qualification required, combining different modules for different occupations. The only training that has not changed as yet is the Door Supervisors pack which will be available in June, when the new qualification is ready.
Each training package disk consists of lesson plans, exercises, scenarios, PowerPoint, video clips and handouts for the learners and fully meets the requirements of the relevant qualification.
