Continuing Professional Development

As part of our Vision, Aims and Values, Skills for Security is always looking at ways to help the security industry move forward, improve and find ways to demonstrate its commitment to training and staff development.

As part of its commitment to supporting the security sector, the Security Institute has developed a scheme of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) which will enable members of the scheme to use a structured method of evidencing their learning and development activities.

Skills for Security training courses will now form part of this scheme and CPD points will be issued for each course completed, with certificates showing the number of points awarded. For those courses that lead to a formal qualification certificated by an Awarding Organisation, the accompanying letter from Skills for Security will confirm the number of points.

This scheme is open to both members and non-members of the Security Institute and further advice and guidance will be found on their website. Please click here for details.
