Skills for Security regularly undertake projects to develop new NOS and review existing ones to ensure that they are up to date and fully reflect the job roles within the sector.
The purpose of industry consultation is:
National Occupational Standards describe the knowledge and skills that people need to perform a job of work. They are vital to the private security industry, but are only of use if they are accurate and up-to-date in describing the knowledge and skills required to work in this ever-changing sector. the only people who can ensure that they are accurate are the people who work in the various specialisms. We have been working with some industry specialists to review the standards, and now we want the views of the wider security community on what has been developed.
