Skills for Security is an employer-led organisation, having been created by the security industry to develop the workforce.
We maintain regular dialogue with employers in each of the security sectors through a network of consultation groups that represent the following disciplines:-
- Security Guarding
- Door Supervision/Event Security
- Cash & Valuables in Transit
- CCTV Operations
- Close Protection
- Security Consultants
- Security Systems
- Investigation
- Locksmiths
- Scottish Guarding/Leisure
- Scottish Systems
We are developing separate sector groups in Scotland and currently host cross-sector consultation meetings in Northern Ireland. Following LMI research in Wales this year, we will start meetings in a format to suit the employers based there.
Each group meets regularly to discuss their particular needs in terms of skills and qualifications, and to exchange ideas and best practice.
