This programme has been designed for those wishing to become a competent and qualified skills coach.
Who is the programme for?
This programme is suitable for those individuals who have good verbal communications skills, well developed interpersonal skills, an excellent knowledge of the sector in which they are intending to coach/mentor and be committed to the development of others.
What does the programme cover?
A developmental programme at Level 3, to help potential skills coaches acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to be able to effectively coach the development of others. The programme involves a short pre-course project and a two day course, followed by a final unit completed in the workplace.
The programme covers the following topics:
- Identifying principles of coaching
- Developing communication and inter-personal Skills for Security
- Developing an awareness of the coach's professional role
These topics are integrated into the 3 units:
- Unit 1 - Key principles of coaching and mentoring
- Unit 2 - Supporting the development of the learner
- Unit 3 - Supporting the assessment process
What are the benefits of this programme?
Delegates will develop and expand their knowledge of coaching, helping them to improve motivational skills, goal setting and guiding and providing feedback- all essential skills within the workplace. Successful delegates will achieve the NOCN Level 3 certificate in the Principles and Application of Coaching Skills.
Skills coach training materials are available to purchase to enable in-company delivery by a Level 4 qualified tutor.
