Companies and individuals across the UK are being invited to submit nominations for the 2008 Skills for Security awards, sponsored by NOCN. The awards have also seen a complete revamp with just one prestigious award category this year, entitled 'Contribution to Skills Development & Training' which recognises achievement in improving the skills and knowledge base of the sector.
The deadline for entering the awards is 8th September, and the winners will be presented their awards at the England and Wales conference, alongside the F1 champions at the Williams F1 Conference Centre Oxford, on 4th November and the Northern Ireland Conference at the recently refurbished La Mon Hotel, Belfast, on 11th November.

The awards provide a great opportunity for companies and individuals to highlight examples of best practice to colleagues within the industry and to have their achievements publicly recognised."
This year's conferences will be designed to make the audience think about and debate current issues and speakers, which include: Baroness Henig Chairman of the SIA, Professor Martin Gill Director of Perpetuity, Mike Wilson Chief Executive of the SIA; Linda Holbeche of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development; Sir Ronnie Flanagan, Brendan Flynn of Federal Security Services and Sir Ronnie Flanagan, GBE, QPM, HM Chief Inspector of Constabulary are encouraged to be controversial and challenging, to provide a very lively and interesting day.
