Free Trainers' Workshop

Release date: 23rd March 2010

Skills for Security the sector skills body, is pleased to announce they will be holding their first half day trainers' workshop on the 8th June at the Sorensen Centre at Security House, Worcester.

This workshop is designed specifically for training organisations or those responsible for training in-house. The workshop will include how Skills for Security can help their business, an overview of how the new Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) impacts upon their new training strategies and their training offerings and also how they can access funding for their training through the Skills and Funding Agency (SFA).

Trainers will also be able to choose between attending a seminar on best practices of physical intervention and how physical intervention training has been implemented into the new SIA requirements for door supervisors, or they can choose to learn the tools and techniques to provide greater engagement with their learners, to provide a better learning experience through an accelerated learning techniques seminar. Skills for Security employees will also be on hand throughout the event to answer any queries they may have.

David Greer, Chief Executive of Skills for Security comments; "Skills for Security's remit is to engage with those working within the private security sector to keep them informed about changes within the sector and discuss issues that they currently face. It is also extremely important to us to gain feedback from the industry on how we can help them by improving the services that we offer. After feedback from our conference last year, it was clear that we needed to engage more with those responsible for/or provide training within the industry and this event is designed specifically for their needs and the agenda is based on the areas that they have asked for us to provide further information on."

The workshop is free to attend, but places are limited. To see the full agenda for the event and book your free place, please visit http://www.skillsforsecurity.org.uk/index.php/happening/15/228
