Release date: 27th January 2010
The Department for Employment and Learning's (DEL) Leadership and Management skills development programme for 2009/10, Made Not Born, was officially launched in November 2009. The overarching aim of the campaign is to show NI businesses that by simply adopting good management practices it is possible to achieve far reaching business benefits, including increased productivity, better return on capital and more robust growth. To date, over 300 local SMEs have attended the first four roadshow events throughout NI where they had an opportunity to learn more about the benefits of effective leadership. Guest speakers included Pierre-Yves Gerbeau, CEO of X-Leisure and Jeff Grout, Leadership and Management Guru and former business adviser to Sir Clive Woodward. Delegates at the roadshows also heard from local SMEs who have already experienced the benefits of investing in Leadership and Management development.
