Values
Our values define what our customers and staff can expect in how we deliver our objectives.
Integrity
We will conduct our business in a consistent and open manner and use our time, money and resources wisely.
We will be trusted to do what we say and deliver in the time agreed.
Striving for Excellence
We will continually review the way we work so that we deliver high performance in everything we do. We will consult with and listen to our employers and stakeholders and provide services that meet or exceed expectations.
Expertise
We will build and support a world class team in which every member feels valued and whose expertise and knowledge is a key feature of our reputation.
Ambition
We want our people to desire and achieve success for themselves, their colleagues and the industry that we work for.
Our People
We are committed to valuing our staff and it is our intention to become an 'employer of choice' where we attract, retain and progress people irrespective of their background, age, gender, religion or belief. Together we will build an organisation where all staff feel well treated and respected. When things go wrong we will support each other, without seeking to blame.
Corporate Responsibility
Corporate responsibility is top of our agenda as it impacts upon economic, social and environmental areas of the business. As the industry's skills and standards setting body, we naturally want to lead by example.
Our responsible behaviour and good practice is reflected throughout all areas of the business, from minimising our environmental impact and increasing efficiency, to helping the local community with charitable support.
Skills for Security has a policy of supporting local charities including: St. Richard's Hospice, Acorns Children's Hospice and the County Air Ambulance. Skills for Security's employees participate in a number of fundraising activities from raffle ticket selling to activity weekends. As an organisation we also donate the money we would normally spend on Christmas cards for our customers to these three charities.
We also support the Security Benevolent Fund, which is a service specifically for members of the security profession. Providing welfare, legal, medical and health related guidance and support, to enable individuals to return to good health and gainful work as soon as possible.
