Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS)

Accredited Persons Training

 

An accredited person is a person employed by an organisation (other than a police force) in a CSAS Accredited Persons role, who has been accredited by a Chief Officer of Police under section 41 of the Police Reform Act 2002.

 

To be part of the ACPO CSAS Accredited Persons Accreditation Scheme

  • Your local Police Force must have a CSAS Scheme in place

  • Your organisation must meet the scheme requirements and be approved by that Force

  • Employees must be suitable and competent to exercise the powers conferred by virtue of the accreditation

  • Employees must receive adequate training for the exercise of those powers

Employees seeking accreditation should have undergone CSAS Accredited Persons training in line with the “Specification for the Learning Programme and Qualification for Accredited Persons under CSAS Accredited Persons Schemes in England and Wales”.

It is the responsibility of employers to ensure that their employees are trained to the standard required by their local Force

There are various ways your employees can be trained:

  • Training leading to certification

  • Your organisation develops and delivers its own training

  • By purchasing a training package or accessing a training provider.
